WHATS NEWFollowing last year's exhibition in the Perth Concert Hall, the drive back across the Nullarbor and Barrier Highway provided plenty of new material. The rainfall had been heavy and the skies were overcast for the whole trip, making for a moody and muted atmosphere except for a short burst of sunlight in the lower Flinders Ranges. The resulting works now available from the studio. In the late 90"s I did a series of inlayed timber panels for the Brothers Neilsen surf stores. Fifteen of these have now been gathered together for the first time to form an exhibition. The works were on show from July 31st 2010 at Pearly Shells on the Gold Coast Highway Mermaid Beach. Also in the show is a sculpture of HUEY (the surf god) - cast in fibreglass. There are some images in this gallery. Six panels remain following the opening. I am joining an exciting new gallery at Yallingup WA called the Studio Gallery - it opens October 2nd 2010. This is my first gallery in my old surfing grounds "down south" - it feels right. |
